Olympus can supply robots and complete solutions for laser welding and cutting.
Reis have patented a CO2 laser robot design where the laser beam is transmitted through the centre of the robot axes, with mirrors being used to reflected around the axis joints. The beam is then emitted from a central point at the end of the robot arm, providing a highly versatile laser cutting tool. The laser source is mounted on axis 2 and can have a power of up to 2kW. A similar system with fibre optics can be used for ND:YAG.
Laser welding robots are available using diode laser heads mounted on the end of the robot.
Reis robots can be programmed to trace complex three dimensional paths with extreme precision and repeatability at high but controlled speed.
