Olympus can supply robots and complete solutions for laser welding and cutting.

Reis have patented a CO2 laser robot design where the laser beam is transmitted through the centre of the robot axes, with mirrors being used to guide the beam around the axis joints. The beam is then emitted through specially designed optics from a central point at the end of the robot arm, providing a highly versatile laser cutting tool. The laser source is mounted on axis 2 and can have a power of up to 2kW. A similar system with fibre optics can be used for ND:YAG.

Laser welding is performed using the latest fibre lasers up to 8kW. As with the CO2 and ND:YAG laser robots, Reis laser welding robots have integral beam guidance through the middle of the robot arm and specially designed compact optics integral to the robot head.

Reis robots can be programmed to trace complex three dimensional paths with extreme precision and repeatability at high but controlled speed.
