Welding & Cutting
Articulating robot mounted upside-down, maximising the working area
Articulating robot works with tilt and turn additional axes to weld the corners of stainless steel frames. Linear transducers feed back the frame dimensions to the robot, then touch sensing locates the exact corner positions. A combination of TIG and MIG is used with a tool change operation in between.
Olympus can supply welding robots and complete solutions for robotic welding and cutting.
Robots can be fitted with MIG or TIG welding torches or plasma cutting torches. Tool change systems are available, allowing the robot to switch between two different torches.
Reis welding robots can be programmed to trace complex three dimensional paths with extreme precision and repeatability at high but controlled speed.
The robots can also be programmed to perform touch sensing and seam searching to identify exactly where to weld when positions and tolerances may vary. Weld monitoring systems are also available. These continually monitor welding quality by recording the key welding parameters.
Olympus also specialises in welding and cutting equipment for both automated and manual use.
